Senior Java Backend Developer

Harmonic is a leading provider of innovative broadband solutions that deliver video, voice, and data to communications providers around the world. GL team participates in the development and QA of several generations of these solutions. The CableOS department is about developing the new software-based network equipment which provides access to Internet/IPTV/VoIP services using powerful servers. It is an innovative solution for Internet Service Providers which will allow to get rid of the existing HW equipment and to migrate to the cloud, saving customers the enormous expenses for the support of huge number of hardware network equipment.

Currently, there are no competitors to this project in the world and Customer offers the opportunity to be at the beginning of the rapid development of the product and the opportunity to take their place in a fast-paced engineering team. Portal is a single-page application, that helps clients to configure and monitor the services provided by harmonics. The portal is designed as a single point of entry for the client into the Harmonic infrastructure.

Requirements:

• 3+ years with Java;
• Work experience within RESTful Web Services;
• Work experience within Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux, Spring Security (Oauth2), Spring Data (JPA/Redis));
• Work experience within Linux environment;
• Knowledge of SQL (Postgres is a plus);
• English at an upper-intermediate level.

Preferences:

• Cloud deployment using AWS EC2;
• Docker containers experience;
• Microservices experience;
• Golang experience (standard library packages; familiarity with any Golang ORM is a plus);
• AWS (SQS, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, Elasticache);
• Experience with Elasticsearch, WebSocket, JUnit 5, Bash.

Job Responsibilities:

• Application is a tool for networking devices configuration and monitoring;
• As a developer, you will have to design and implement backend solutions for the cloud-based service portal;
• You will be implementing new features, improving existing code quality, writing tests;
• In addition, integration with 3rd-party APIs such as Slack, Zendesk, JIRA, and Confluence will be required;
• Some experience in cloud-based development is a plus, as you will also have to support the fast deployment of your new code to the cloud production environment;
• You should be able to learn quickly, understand requirements and clarify them with PO or colleagues, adapt to project priorities changes.
